Talihina stays alive
Talihina stays alive in the Oklahoma high school football playoffs with a win while Pocola was eliminated at Hooker.
The Golden Tigers moved into the Class A—II semifinals with a 36-26 win over Texhoma-Goodwell Friday night in Talihina while Pocola lost to Hooker, 46-30, after making the over 400-mile trip.
Talihina, now 11-1, advances to play Thomas-Fay-Custer in the semifinals. The OSSAA will announce the location, day and time later. Thomas-Fay-Custer defeated Hominy, 20-14 in another quarterfinal game Friday. The Terriers enter the semifinal game with an 11-1 loss to Apache.
Talihina is ranked fifth in Class A—II while the Terriers are sixth in the Skordle rankings.
Pocola’s best season in years ended in the quarterfinals as the Indians (9-3) fell to top-ranked Hooker (11-1). Hooker advances to play Pawnee in the semifinals.
