Pocola to play Dale for state title

Top seeds advance in LCTWinners play at 7 p.m.

The top two seeds in the 2024 fast pitch softball LCT advanced to Tuesday’s winners bracket semifinals with wins Monday.

Top-seeded and undefeated Pocola plays Panama at 3 p.m. in Talihina while Howe and Whitesboro also play in the winners bracket at 5 p.m., also at Talihina. What makes the Howe and Whitesboro game even more interesting is the Lions handed the Bulldogs their only loss this season in a game at Howe Aug. 27.

LCT after Monday

The winners of those two games play at 7 p.m. with the winners advancing to Thursday’s championship game. The loser will be sent to the losers bracket.

Tuesday’s games will also be played at LeFlore and Poteau High School.

At LeFlore, Talihina and Wister, along with LeFlore playing the combined team from Arkoma and Cameron, play at 4 p.m. with the winners playing at 6 p.m.

Heavener and Poteau play 4 p.m. at Poteau, with the winner advancing to play Spiro at 6 p.m.

In Monday’s first-round games, LeFlore edged Heavener, 12-7, Panama edged Wister, 2-0, Spiro pounded Talihina, 14-4; and Howe had an easy game of it with a 14-2 victory over the Arkoma/Cameron team.

In the second round, Pocola blanked LeFlore, 20-0; and Howe shut out defending champion Poteau, 4-0.
