Week One games continue Friday

Four games scheduled for Friday

Week One football games continue Friday night with four football games involving LeFlore County teams, including the opener for Heavener.

Coming off their first playoff appearance since 2011, the Wolves will try to start the season with some momentum as Heavener travels to Central Sallisaw, in a series which has featured close games the last four years.

It is the opener for both teams. Poteau makes its home debut as the 0-1 Pirates attempt to bounce back from last week’s lost at Booneville, Arkansas, 14-10.

Panama and Spiro opened last night with the Razorbacks winning, 41-20. Pocola has a bye this week after defeating Antlers last week.

Talihina started off with a bang last week, romping past Summit Christian, 62-28. The Golden Tigers, which didn’t even have a team two years ago, will attempt to improve to 2-0 when they host former district foe Porter.

Arkoma will also be shooting got s 2-0 start when the Mustangs travel to Canadian, which played 11-man football last year, before dropping back down to 8-man. Arkoma opened with a 60-42 win at Bluejacket last week.
