Heavener man injured in wreck

A 34-year-old Heavener man was injured in a two-car accident Friday one mile north of Howe on Highway 59.

Dustin May was driving a 2000 Honda when his vehicle crossed the center line and struck a 2003 Jeep, driven by Wiley Benton, 74, of Roland.

May, who was pinned for approximately 43 minutes before being freed by the Poteau Fire Department, was taken to Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas, where he is listed in stable but critical condition with head injuries. Benton was treated and released.
