Obituary for Nadean Reeves

Nadean Reeves of Heavener was born Feb. 4, 1927 in Texas to Cleave and Arie (Glenn) Burns and passed away Sept. 3, 2023 in Heavener at the age of 97.

Funeral service is 1 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Baptist Church in Heavener with Reverend Howard Huddle and Reverend Gene Heflin officiating. Burial will follow in Heavener Memorial Park under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener.

Nadean was a life-long resident of the area, a graduate of Heavener High School, and a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She worked at the Otasco and Ben Franklin in Heavener as a clerk for many years. Nadean enjoyed serving all of her customers and loved everyone. She also enjoyed watching birds and sitting outside on her back porch. Nadean loved gardening, being a chicken farmer, and thoroughly enjoyed watching her grandchildren. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, cousin, aunt and friend. Nadean will be missed by all that knew her.

She is survived by one daughter Peggy Branscum and husband Ronnie; one son, Mike Reeves; one sister, Loretta Yandell; one sister-in-law, Betty Burns; six grandchildren Jeremy Branscum, Joshua and wife Jennifer Branscum, Jena and husband Taylor Branstetter, Lance Reeves, Shannon and wife Lori Mosley, and Shawn “Booger” and wife Crystal Mosley; 16 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; special friends that she loved as her own children: Roger and Sandy Cheek, Sherri and Cal Miller; and numerous nieces, nephews, other loved ones, and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cleave and Arie Burns; her husband, George Reeves; a daughter, Linda Mosley; a daughter-in-law, Pam Reeves; two grandchildren Shane Mosley and Brock Reeves; four sisters France McMillen, Margaret Metzler, Dorthy Gillham and Florence Holokani; and two brothers, Norris and Olen Burns.

Pallbearers are her great-grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are Roger Cheek, Cal Miller, Jimmy Wells and Bruce Gillham.

Viewing is from noon until 7 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, with the family visiting with friends from 6. until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
