All the games during a high school football season are important.
District games take on even more importance, especially the farther a team goes through the schedule.
That is certainly true in Week 7 games Friday night as there is a big game between two county rivals, Poteau plays a foe that has usually been a difficult test, Heavener makes the long trip to Hugo, Spiro is at home against undefeated Idabel, Talihina hosts Porter and Arkoma got an early start with a 21-0 loss at Foyil Thursday.
The biggest game of the night has Panama visiting Pocola in A-8 play. Whenever these two teams play, it is big and Friday is no exception as this one definitely has playoff implications. Panama defeated Pocola last year and is 4-2 overall and 3-0 in district play while the Indians are 3-3 and 1-2.
