Pocola gets past Poteau
In a matchup of two of the top fast pitch softball teams in LeFlore County, Pocola showed it is still the team to beat in the upcoming LeFlore County Tournament.
The Lady Indians scored five runs over the last three innings to defeat Poteau 5-1 Tuesday afternoon in Poteau.
Pocola is 14-3 and goes to Roland Thursday. Poteau drops to 10-5 and visits Fort Gibson Thursday.
Allyssa Parker got the win for the Lady Indians. She pitched all seven innings, allowing four hits and one unearned run with six strikeouts and no walks.
At the plate, Parker homered and was 2-2 with one RBI and a run scored and Dauslyn Brown doubled while going 1-3 with one run scored.
Annika Dill also went the distance for Pocola. She allowed six hits and five runs, one earned, while striking out six and walking six.
Emma Walker led the Lady Pirates at the plate. She went 2-3.
