Poteau closed out play before the Christmas break Thursday by sweeping a pair of basketball games at Muldrow.
The Lady Pirates won the opener, 50-48, before the Pirates completed the sweep with a 49-45 victory in the nightcap.
Both Poteau teams improve to 3-5. Poteau plays at Sallisaw Jan. 9. Muldrow’s girls are 6-2 while the Bulldogs drop to 3-5.
Boys
Poteau won this one from the free throw line as the Pirates were 14-23 while Muldrow went 6-12. Dax Collins led Poteau with 18 points and Conner Whitworth scored 11

Poteau’s girls built up a 26-18 lead at halftime and held off a second-half run by the Lady Bulldogs to get the win.
Parker Patterson led Poteau with 21 points and Emma Hackler finished with 12
