Heavener’s last home games did not turn out to be what the Wolves and Lady Wolves were hoping to see happen.

Stigler’s girls overcame an early deficit and the Panthers were in control throughout to avenge an earlier home loss to Heavener in Black Diamond Conference play Friday night.

On Heavener’s senior night, Stigler’s girls held on for a 50-43 win while the Panthers had little trouble with the Wolves, winning 60-39.

Heavener is back in action Saturday at Poteau before visiting Pocola Tuesday night. Heavener’s last regular season game is Feb. 17 at Muldrow before the district tournament tips off Feb. 22 at Spiro.

Heavener’s boys fall to 10-12 while the Lady Wolves are 6-16, but have improved considerably late in the season, even with their only senior, Brittley Reed, out with a knee injury.

Stigler’s boys are 10-10 while the Lady Panthers improve to 9-9.
