Funeral service for Jamie Earls 

Funeral service for Jamie Earls, 44, of Pocola is 2 p.m. Tuesday at Victory Worship Center in Spiro with Bryan Fouts officiating. Burial will follow at Spiro City Cemetery under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.

She was born April 3, 1978 in Fort Smith and died in her home Feb. 1, 2023.

Survivors include her husband, Justin Earls; son, Talon Tuck; daughter, Kenzie Tuck; step sons Hagen and Hadlee Earls; step mother, Lynnette Glenn; grandmother, Glenda Harris; brother Grant Glenn and wife Teedra; sister Michelle White and husband Tracy; and a grandson, Hazen Wade Earls.

She was preceded in death by her father, Eddie Glenn; and grandfather, James Harris.

Pocola sweeps Heavener in basketball

Pocola sweeps Heavener in basketball games in Black Diamond Conference play Thursday.

The games were originally scheduled to be played Tuesday but were pushed back by the winter weather.

Heavener visits Wilburton Friday while Pocola hosts Talihina.

Boys

Pocola jumped ahead 12-14 before putting the game away in the third period by outscoring Heavener, 23-8.

The Indians, now 10-5 and the LeFlore County Tournament champions were led by Garrett Scott with 17 points and Dakota Terrell finished with 16.

Heavener, 14-3. was led by Isaac Cook and Landon Thurman, both with 13.

Pocola jumped ahead 20-0 at the end of the first quarter and built a 31-6 advantage of the halftime in the easy win.

The Lady Indians, now 11-4, were led by Allyssa Parker with 17 points and Kail Chitwood finished with 12.

Heavener now 5-11, got 11 from McKinley Alexander.

The 2023 basketball LeFlore County Tournament starts again Monday with games scheduled to be played at Panama, Poteau and Talihina.

The LCT is the oldest tournament in the state. Games later in the week will be played at Spiro.
