Obituary for Bobby Dean Moody

Bobby Dean Moody, 88, of the Haw Creek community in Heavener was born Aug. 22, 1935 in the Reichert Community to Bob and Ruby (Padgett) Moody and passed away Oct. 24, 2023 at his home in the Haw Creek community.

Funeral service is 2 p.m. Friday at the Big Creek Baptist Church with Brother Lynn Phillips and Dr. Philip Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Page Cemetery, under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener.

Bobby was a long-time resident of the area. He accepted the Lord when he was 17 years old and lived for Him throughout his life. Bobby married the love of his life, Corene (Brown), July 11, 1955. He was drafted into the Army in 1958 and spent two years in Germany, serving his country. He loved working in the woods logging and then they moved to Texas, where he started his welding career. He was a welder for some 40 years until he retired in 2006. They decided to come home to Haw Creek and raise cattle. Bobby and Corene loved every day of it. He loved his family most of all and was so blessed to have them. Bobby was so proud of each and every one of them.

Surviving family members are his wife of 68 years, Corene “Ennie” (Brown) Moody, of the home; two sons Tim Moody and wife Melissa of Cumming, Georgia, and Steve Moody and wife Shelly of Howe; one daughter Rhonda Baker and husband Derick of Haw Creek; his grandchildren

Kenny and wife Cara, Crystal and husband Brad, Kyle and wife Hali, Bobby and wife Brittany, Kasey and wife Chelsea, Jordan and wife Andi, Shane, Tyler and wife Devyn; 14 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other loved ones, and a host of many friends and church family.

He was preceded in death by his parents Bob and Ruby (Padgett) Moody; two brothers Dwain and Harrell; four sisters Juanita, Velma, Norma Lee, Wyenema; and a granddaughter Jessica Ginsberg.

Pallbearers are Kenny Baker, Kyle Baker, Kasey Baker, Bobby Moody, Jordan Moody, Shane Moody and Tyler Moody.

Viewing is from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday and 9 to 11:30 a.m. Friday.
