3 people die in McCurtain County wreck

Three McCurtain County residents died in an auto accident Saturday at approximately 5:10 a.m. on Highway 87, that is under investigation.

Collyn R. White, 21, of Idabel was driving a 2020 Nissan Rogue, was driving west when he failed to negotiate a curve, departed the road to the left and struck a tree.

White was deceased at the scene. There were five passengers in the Rogue.

Rosalind Martinez, 39, was transported by Air Evac to the Medical Center in McKinney, Texas, where she is in stable condition. 

Jakavian Matthews, 20, of Broken Bow was taken by McCurtain County EMS to McCurtain Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released.

Jamea Booth, 18, was transported by Air Evac to the Medical Center in McKinney, where she was treated and released.

Ricky Kennybrew, 36, of Idabel was deceased at scene from injuries sustained in the collision.

Brianna Ruth, 23, of Broken Bow also was deceased at scene from injuries sustained in the collision.

Seat belts were equipped, but not in use. Airbags were equipped and deployed.

The accident was investigated by Trooper Garrett Schulze, assisted by Choctaw Nation Tribal Police, McCurtain County Sheriff’s Office, Tom Fire Department and Hayworth Fire Department.
