Broken Bow man pleads guilty to murder

MUSKOGEE – The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Devon Leroy Battiest, 43, of Broken Bow entered a guilty plea to an Information charging him with murder in Indian County—second degree.

The information alleged that Battiest unlawfully killed the victim with malice aforethought. According to investigators, on May 6, 2023, Battiest entered a Broken Bow residence armed with a firearm.
