Top seeds cruise into winners bracket finals
The top two seeds in the baseball LeFlore County Tournament cruised into the winners bracket final Thursday night with wins in Tuesday’s winners bracket semifinals.
Top-seeded Wister blanked Panama, 10-0, while second-seeded Poteau rallied past Spiro, 9-1.
The two teams are scheduled to play 8:45 p.m. Thursday at Spiro.
Heavener and Cameron fought through losers bracket games to advance to Thursday.
Heavener plays Panama at 3 p.m. with Cameron squaring off against Spiro at 5 p.m. The winners of those two games play at 7 p.m.
Heavener defeated Bokoshe, 9-1, in the Wolves’ first game Tuesday and then defeated Pocola, 8-5. Pocola had earlier defeated LeFlore, 7-5.
At Wister, Cameron opened with a 14-2 win over Arkoma before edging Howe, 8-6, after the Lions had defeated Whitesboro, 13-1 in their first game Tuesday.
