Heavener, Hartshorne split conference games

HARTSHORNE — Heavener and Hartshorne split their Black Diamond Conference games here Friday night.

Hartshorne’s girls took the opener, 80-33, before the Wolves salvaged the split with a 62-57 win in the second contest.

Heavener is tentatively scheduled to play at Talihina Monday.

Boys

Heavener’s boys overcame a halftime deficit with a big third quarter to down the Miners for the second time this season.

The Wolves, now 16-3, outscored Hartshorne 21-8 in the third quarter to regain the lead and go on to get the win.

Bryce Morrison led the Wolves with 15 points, Isaac Cook added 13, Landon Thurman finished with 12 and Jackson Clubb had 10.

Hartshorne’s girls completed the season sweep with the big win over the Lady Wolves. Unlike the earlier game, Hartshorne took control early, outscoring Heavener, 24-6, and stretching the advantage to 39-11 at the half.

Hartshorne’s girls improve to 10-6, Heavener is 6-12.
