In our featured game of Day One, Heavener’s girls jumped out to a 15-0 lead in the first quarter, saw Wister cut the deficit to 38-37 in the third quarter as the Lady Wildcats outscored Heavener, 25-12, in the third period before Heavener recovered and scored the final six points to win, 54-46.
With the score at 48-46 with 2:25 Ava Cartwright hit a pair of free throws to give Heavener a cushion before Mariana Garcia went 2-2 and hit a layup late for the final scores.
