Brenda Sue Jackson, 71, of Heavener was born Nov. 6, 1952 in Bakersfield, California to James Henry and Alma Mae (Riggs) Barnes and passed away Nov. 17, 2023 in Heavener.
Memorial service is 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel in Heavener. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener.
Brenda was a lifelong resident of the area and a Master Gardner. She was a graduate of Poteau High School, where she was a star basketball player. Brenda had a degree in Master Gardening. She also worked as a bartender at the Southern Grill in Poteau for 30 years and was a member of the 128 Family. Brenda was of the Catholic faith. Her motto was “Be Good or Be Gone”. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Brenda had a smile that could light up the room. She will be deeply missed.
Survivors are three daughters Susan Armor and husband Nick of Kansas City, Missouri, Marla Clark of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Crystal Patro and husband Tony of Heavener; five grandchildren Rachel, Chelsea, Josh, Ricky and Star; seven great-grandchildren; her 128 friends/ numerous other loved relatives and many friends
She was preceded in death by her parents James and Alma Mae Barnes.
