POCOLA – Funeral service for Alva Faye Hesson, 84 of Pocola is 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mallory-Martin Chapel in Spiro. Burial will follow at Macedonia Cemetery in Pocola, under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.
She was born Jan. 22, 1938 in Hunnington, Arkansas to Nettie (Cunningham) Moore and Alvin Moore and passed away May 13, 2022 in Pocola.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Tomlin; a son Bobby Hesson and wife Darlene; grandchildren Nanci St. John, Michael Hesson, and Jody Beard; great grandchildren, Ashli Crenshaw, Sierra Hamby, Loran Standridge, Michael Hesson, Paige McFarland, Catlyn McFarland, Blaine McFarland and LA McFarland; great great grandchildren, Brently King, Aylah Dryer, Hadley Nelson, London Hamby, Jace Standridge, Maddox Standridge, Eli Hamby, Wyatt Hamby, and one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Hesson, parents, 7 sisters and 2 brothers.
Pallbearers are Michael Client, Michael Hesson, Keith Biggerstaff, Tony Freeman and Adam Waddle.
Viewing is Monday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
