The local fishing report at Wister Lake for Feb. 28, 2024

Wister: February 23. Elevation is 1 ft. above normal and falling, water temperature 52°F and stained. (USACE Current Lake Level) Largemouth bass fair on jigs, plastic baits, and spinnerbaits around brush structure, creek channels, and main lake. Blue and channel catfish good on cut bait, hot dogs, and shad around main lake and river channel. Crappie good on jigs and minnows around brush structure, main lake, river channel, and tailwater. Report submitted by James Williams, game warden stationed in Le Flore County.

Early voting for Oklahoma’s March 5 Presidential Preferential Primary begins Thursday at 8 a.m. for voters across the state. Early voting will be held Thursday and Friday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. A list of early voting locations is available on the State Election Board website. FAYETTEVILLE Down 15 with 5:54 to play, Arkansas made seven straight baskets late to trim and trailed by one (83-82) with five seconds to play after a Khalif Battle. After a foul on the ensuing inbounds, Vanderbilt’s Ezra Manjon made two free throws with 3.5 seconds left to put the Commodores up three, 85-82.
