Claremore delivers beating on Poteau, 8-3

Claremore delivers beating on Poteau, 8-3, in the Tahlequah Tournament Friday.

Poteau is 9-2 and is scheduled to play Branson, Missouri, 10 a.m. Saturday. The Pirates are now 1-1 in the tournament after opening with a 13-5 victory over Tahlequah Thursday.

Against Claremore, Poteau held a 3-2 lead through the fourth inning before the Zebras scored six times in their last two at bats.

Kord Fenton pitched three innings, allowing three hits and two runs with three walks and three strikeouts. He was relieved by Pierce Ballard, who also threw three innings, giving up five hits and six runs with four walks and two strikeouts.

Fenton tripled while going 1-3 and scored a run, Jagger Dodson doubled and went 1-3 with a run and Wesley Garrett also doubled while going 1-3 with a RBI.
