County teams go 1-4 to open playoffs

The first round of the Oklahoma state football playoffs Friday turned out to a be a rough night for LeFlore County teams as they went 1-4 to kick off the postseason.

Only undefeated Poteau moved on to the second round where the Pirates will host Newcastle next week in a 4A quarterfinal game after Poteau defeated Miami, 41-13, for the second straight year. Newcastle advanced with a 46-21 win over Elk City.
