Idabel woman killed by plane while mowing

A 27-year-old Idabel woman was killed when she was mowing and struck by a 1972 Bonanza A36 airplane driven by 70-year-old James Baxter of Broken Bow at the Broken Bow Airport.

The pilot was descending onto runway, when he touched down, he saw a person on a lawn mower, attempted to pull up and to get the wing over the person. Wing struck the subject on lawn mower.

While Baxter was not injured, Samantha Hayes, who was on the lawn mower, was pronounced deceased on scene due to a head injury.
