Memorial graveside service for James Louis King, 76, of Poteau is 10 a.m. Tuesday at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau with Elder Steve Woods officiating. Cremation is under the direction of Grace Funeral Service of Poteau.
He was born July 22, 1947 in Evansville, Indiana to Agnes Catherine (Parr) King and James Edward King and passed away Aug. 30, 2023 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was married to Dora Diana May (Doyle) King on Dec. 4, 1976 in Phoenix, Arizona.
He enjoyed being a ham radio operator. He was generous and loved being of service to others. Jim was always there when needed.
Survivors include his wife, Diana King; sons Shannon King and wife Miranda, and James King; daughters Lori Fox and husband Darrin, Davina Pederson and husband Mark, and Amanda Cummins and husband Devin; grandchildren Brittany King, Chris King, Jacolby King, Chloe King, Daniella Fox, Dylan Fox, Caroline Pederson, Catherine Pederson, Stefan Pederson and Corbin Cummins, six great grandchildren, numerous other relatives and loved ones.
James was preceded in death by his parents, son, Shawn King; sister, Rebecca Montelaro.
