Pocola man injured in wreck

SPIRO—A 29-year-old Pocola man was injured at approximately 8:55 p.m. Thursday on Lock and Dam Road, around 2.1 miles east of Spiro.

Devin Goswick was driving a 2015 Toyota Tacoma at a high rate of speed, departed the road to the right, hit a dirt driveway and flipped several times, ejecting Goswick in the process, before the truck came to rest.

He was transported to Baptist Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas by LeFlore County EMS.

The accident report said there was an odor of alcohol and he was driving at a high rate of speed. The truck was equipped with seat belts, but were not used, and airbags were also equipped and deployed. 

The accident was investigated by Trooper Matt Dyer, assisted by Trooper Michael Scantling, Leflore County Sheriff’s Office and Leflore County EMS.
