McCurtain takes two from Arkoma

ARKOMA – Arkoma’s Deuce Walden surpasses 1,000 career points, but it wasn’t enough to prevent McCurtain’s boys from defeating the Mustangs, 65-47, to complete a sweep of the two games here Saturday.

McCurtain’s girls won the earlier game, 57-21. Arkoma hosts Bokoshe Tuesday before opening postseason play next weekend.

Boys

Walden, who averaged 26 points per game, scored 16 points and had five rebounds to lead the Mustangs. Braylen Andrews added 15 points.

McCurtain built a big lead at the half and the Mustangs could not recover.

Girls

In the earlier game, McCurtain jumped ahead 24-1 at the end of the first quarter and cruised to the easy win.

Abby Kolb led Arkoma with 10 points.
