Funeral service for Dorothy Dean Sweeten, 99, of Rock Island is 2 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Memorial Chapel in Poteau with Reverend Rocky Boggs officiating. Services are under the direction of Grace Funeral Service of Poteau.
She was born Aug. 21, 1923 in Hackett, Arkansas to Pearl (Williams) Hopkins and Leffel Hopkins and passed away Oct. 15, 2022 in Heavener.
Survivors include her daughters Leta Faye Post and husband Bobby Don, Mary Boggs, Elizabeth Underwood, Karen Ware, Michelle Allen and husband Lee Bollinger; son, Justin Sweeten; 13 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; and great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred Sweeten; daughter, Pearly Mae Minks, and sons Bobby Gene Sweeten and Jerry Wayne Sweeten.
Pallbearers are Brian Minks, Kevin Minks, John Boggs, Leebo Bollinger, Josh Williams, Trey Boggs and Jay Ware.
Viewing is Tuesday from noon to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
