Pirates run past Lavaca

POTEAU – Poteau came from behind to defeat Lavaca, Arkansas, 12-4, in high school baseball action Tuesday at Town Creek Park.

After falling behind 3-1 in the second, the Pirates outscored the visitors 11-1, including a seven-run rally in the fifth to end the game.

Pierce Ballard started and pitched 2.2 innings for the Pirates and allowed two hits and four runs while walking six and striking out two. Hunter Burdick got the win for Poteau. He threw the final 2.1 innings, giving up one hit and one run with one walk and a strikeout.

Dodson doubled and went 2-3 with two runs and a RBI, Dax Collins hit his third home run of the spring and finished 1-4 with four RBI and two runs, Aiden Sockey doubled and finished 1-4 with a RBI and run, Calloway Warren went 1-3 with a RBI and a run, Kord Fenton doubled and was 1-3 with two runs and a RBI.

The Pirates are 5-1 and host Muldrow Monday in a district game.
