POTEAU – The Poteau School Board will meet in a regular business meeting 6 p.m. Monday in the Bert Corr Administration Building at 100 Mockingbird Lane in Poteau.

  1. Item – – DISCUSSION AND VOTE TO APPROVE OR NOT APPROVE THE INDIAN EDUCATION/JOHNSON O’MALLEY COMMITTEE BY-LAWS.
    Information  – –
    The Indian Education Parent Committee and Johnson O’Malley Committee by-laws will be presented for board approval. Our program relies on parental involvement and working with the Federal authorities on funding. By-laws are required for these programs. There are no changes from last year’s by-laws.  

Recommendation  – –  The Board approve the Indian Education/Johnson O’Malley Parent Committee by-laws as presented for the 2022-2023 school year.

Item – DISCUSS AND VOTE TO APPROVE OR NOT APPROVE THE COLLABORATIVE AGREEMENT WITH OU PRE-EMPLOYMENT TRANSITION SERVICES FOR THE 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR.

  • Item – DISCUSSION AND VOTE TO APPROVE OR NOT APPROVE THE GIFTED AND TALENTED PLAN FOR THE 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR.
  1. Item – DISCUSS AND VOTE OT APPROVE OR NOT APPROVE THE DISTRICT STUDENT TRANSFERS FOR THE 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR.
  1. Item – DISCUSSION AND VOTE TO APPROVE OR NOT APPROVE A NEW ACTIVITY FRUNDRAISER PROJECT CALLED “E-SPORTS” FOR POTEAU HIGHSCHOOL.

InformationKim Allison would like to open an Activity Project for an “E-Sports” group. If the new project is approved, she would ask that the attached Activity Fundraisers be approved as well.

RecommendationThe Board approve the Poteau Activity Project for E- Sports and corresponding Activity Fundraiser(s).

 

  1. Item – –  DISCUSSION AND VOTE TO APPROVE OR NOT APPROVE THE ACTIVITY FUND RAISER/S FOR THE 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR.

InformationBy law all Activity Fund Raisers are to be approved by the Board of Education. Poteau School District Fund Raiser/s for the 2022-2023 school year will be presented. More information will be provided in the meeting.

Recommendation – – The Board approve the Poteau School District Fund Raiser/s for the 2022-2023 school year.

  • Item – DISCUSSION AND VOTE TO APPROVE OR NOT APPROVE A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDIGN WITH TAMMY JOHNSON FOR THE USE OF THE SCHOOL’S PARKING LOT LOCATED BY THE BASEBALL FIELD.            

 

  • NEW BUSINESS.

 

  • SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT. 
  1. Increase in Insurance Premiums effective January 1, 2023

 

  1. EXECUTIVE SESSION.
    Proposed Executive Session pursuant to OKLA. STAT. tit. 25, Section 307 (B) (1) and (3), to discuss the resignations and employment of individuals as set out below.
