POCOLA – Funeral service for Harvey Doyle Spangler, 79, of Pocola is 10 a.m. Saturday at Evans Memorial Chapel in Pocola with Brother Kane Riggs officiating.
Burial will follow at Macedonia Cemetery in Pocola, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home in Pocola.
He was born May 21, 1942 in Boswell to Estell (Clouse) Spangler and Therrell Spangler and passed away May 20, 2022 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
He retired from Whirlpool in 2005 as an electrician after working there for 40 years and was a Veteran of the United States Air Force, serving from 1960-1964.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia (Hunt) Spangler; son Alan Spangler and wife Monica; daughter Becky Horne and husband Justin; step-daughters Tammy Winfrey and husband Daniel, Tina Johnson; grandchildren Rachel Spangler, Brandon Spangler, Austin Harvey, Shelby Tuskey, Eric White and Aleigha Johnson; five great grandchildren; and a sister, Deborah Spangler.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Bryan Spangler; brother, Donald Spangler; sister, Joyce Westmorland; and the mother of his children, Frances Spangler.
Pallbearers are Justin Horne, Brandon Spangler, Austin Harvey, Eric White, Zach Neal and Derek Neal.
Viewing and visitation is from noon to 8 p.m. Friday. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home in Pocola.
