Wister bounces back to conquer Rattan

Wister bounces back to conquer Rattan after an earlier loss to top-ranked Silo in high school baseball at the Rattan spring festival.

Wister is 7-2 and visits Wright City Thursday.

Game one

Silo, the top-ranked team in Class 2A, jumped out to an early lead and held the Wildcats without a hit in a 13-0 win in Wister’s first game Saturday.

Landon Donaho pitched 1.1 innings, giving up four hits and eight runs with two walks, Joe Hammons threw an inning, allowing three hits and five runs with four walks and two strikeouts before Joel Meeh finished the final two outs with one strikeout.

Game two

Wister scored a pair of runs in the seventh inning and held Rattan to a run to take the 8-6 win over the Rams in the Wildcats’ second game of the day.

Dartyn Meeks went the first four innings, giving up six hits and five runs with four strikeouts and five walks. Landon Thornburg got the win, throwing the final three innings, allowing only one hit and one run with six strikeouts and two walks.

Thornburg doubled and was 3-4 with two RBI and a run, Tucker Wooten homered and went 2-2 with three runs and two RBI, Meeks homered while going 1-2 with two runs and a RBI and Jayden Byars doubled in a 1-4 outing with two RBI
