Council approves big $1 million agreement with ODT as a $1 million-plus agreement with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation to move ahead with the multi-use trail was approved by the Poteau City Council Tuesday night.
Users
Hikers and bicyclists should be able to take the trail from downtown Poteau to Wister, Mayor Scotty White said.
Once complete, riders will be able to check out bicycles.
Security system
The board also approved a $20,000 video security system for the Police Department.
Employee recognized
The council approved a 15-year pin recognizing Johnny Shepherd for his service at the cemetery.
Light approved
A security light at Pleasant Valley Road and Eagle Crest Street also was approved.
