Heavener completes sweep of Checotah

CHECOTAH – Heavener exploded for 10 runs in the first inning en route to a 17-1 win over Checotah in district baseball play Tuesday.

The win completed a two-day sweep as the Wolves won at home Monday, 10-0. Heavener returns home to host Hartshorne 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

One day after Bryce Morrison threw a no-hitter against the Wildcats, Heavener pitcher Noah Ward was almost as good. He went all five innings allowing six hits and one run with four strikeouts and two walks.

Jaxon Armstrong was 3-4 with four runs and two RBI, Jackson Clubb went 3-4 with four RBI, Ward finished 2-3 with two runs and a RBI, Morrison had a 2-3 outing with two runs and Kasen Krebbs went 2-3 with three RBI and two runs.
