Kiamichi Tech recognizes practical nursing graduates

Kiamichi Tech recognizes practical nursing graduates as 16 practical nursing students graduated from Kiamichi Tech in Poteau Thursday.

According to program director, Shelly Swalley, practical nursing graduates complete 1,508 hours of class time and clinical hours. Students attend classes Monday-Friday for 11 months and must pass a rigorous exam in order to gain LPN licensure.

“The nursing profession is growing faster than other industries,” said Swalley. “The need for highly-trained nurses continues to grow throughout Oklahoma and the United States. Our graduates are prepared to fill the essential gap in an evolving workforce.”

The next practical nursing program begins in August 2023 and will continue for 11 months until June 2024. Learn more about the Practical Nursing program at practicalnursing.ktc.edu.
