Panama (6-4) opens the Class A state football playoffs at Wyandotte (8-2) at 7 p.m. Friday.

The only common opponent for the two schools is Porter. Wyandotte defeated Porter, 47-18, in a non-district game in Week 3 while Panama pounded Porter, 55-8, one week later in the district opener for both teams.

The Razorbacks finished in a 3-way tie for second place in the district with Gore and Pocola, but enters the playoffs as the third seed due to tiebreakers.

This is Panama’s second year in Class A. After narrowly missing the playoffs last year, the Razorbacks finished stronger this season after the slow start. The Panama/Wyandotte winner takes on the Hominy and Allen winner next week.
