The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill advisory until 6 p.m. Wednesday as a winter storm warning is in effect from noon Sunday to noon Monday.
Moderate to heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of one to four inches is expected with very cold wind chills as low as 18 below zero expected.
The warned areas are for portions of northwest and west central Arkansas and southeast Oklahoma.
The impact will consist of slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning commute. The cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.
Everybody should use caution while traveling outside and wear appropriate clothing, with a hat and gloves.
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
