Wolves sweep Westville

Heavener opened up district baseball play by sweeping Westville in a doubleheader, 5-0, and 10-2, in the Wolves’ home opener.

Heavener is now 2-1 overall, 2-0 in district play. The Wolves are home again Thursday to host Talihina.

In the opener, Bryce Early went all seven innings for the Wolves, throwing a 1-hitter with nine strikeouts and only two walks.

Devry Ritter was 3-3 at the plate for the Wolves with a RBI and Brintley Hash tripled.

In the second game, Heavener trailed early before scoring three runs in the top of the second to take the lead for good and then ended the game by scoring five runs in the top of the fifth.

Canyon Ford got the start and went 1.2 innings with two strikeouts, five walks and two hits before he was relieved by Talon Lemay. Lemay pitched 3.1 innings, allowing only one hit. He struck out five and walked three.

Lemay also doubled and was 2-2 with a run and a RBI. Hagen Ritter had a 20-2 outing with three runs and a RBI while Early and Jackson Clubb doubled for the Wolves.
